12025-08-01T13:01:16+00:00Mrs. H. J. Seaman wins a sacred picture at St. Mary's School raffle - Apartment 32Other Residents: Event 13plain2025-08-04T15:02:38+00:0005/17/1943“The May meeting of the Mothers’ Club of St. Mary and St. Malachy’s Schools of St. Mary’s parish was held in St. Mary’s School with Mrs. F. A. Bradley in the chair. A feature of the meeting was the drawing in aid of the schools in which Mrs. H. J. Seaman, 146 Bayswater avenue, was the winner of a sacred picture donated by Mrs. E. Y. Baker, past president of the club. The second prize, a pair of embroidered pillow cases, donated by Mrs. Nellie Fagan, was won by Miss Eva Whelan.”
This entry is interesting because it shows that the C. P. Seamans have moved out of their apartment at 146 Bayswater, but have recommended or given it to their relatives, the H. J. Seamans. The “drawing” refers to drawing names out of a container to pick the winners of a raffle. The Seamans are also interesting in that they seem to be the only Catholic residents of 146 Bayswater, despite their English name.
