Latchford, acting for Mr. David Cuthbertson, of Hintonburgh, has issued a writ against the Canadian Pacific Railway Company for $5,000 damages, as a result of an injury sustained by Mr. Cuthbertson on January 9th, while driving over the level crossing on Wellington street.”
The newspaper entry contradicts the February 4 entry which states that David Cuthbertson had his accident on Richmond road. $5,000 is worth well over $100,000 today.
