Leaves property to his two sons, three daughters, and one granddaughter

“LATE D. CUTHBERTSON LEFT $32,847 ESTATE: Contractor’s Will Bequeaths All to Relatives: A total estate of $32,847, all of which is bequeathed to immediate relatives, has been left by the late David Cuthbertson, well known Ottawa contractor, who died June 17 last, and whose will has been entered for probate at the court house… The will directs that one-sixth of the estate, amounting to $5,472, be given to each of the following heirs: Mary Elizabeth Rochester, Jessie Isobel Mason, Ethel C. Cuthbertson, daughters, all of Ottawa; Norman Oliver Cuthbertson, son, Ottawa; Clifford H. Cuthbertson, son, Toronto, and Frances Cuthbertson, grand-daughter, Toronto.”

$32,847 and $5,472 today are worth $577,678 and $96,235 respectively. Frances Cuthbertson was the daughter of Thomas Cuthbertson, who died in 1915 – David is leaving the her the share of property which would have been left to her father. It is interesting to note that Clifford now lives in Toronto: at the time of his mother’s death, he lived in Minaki, ON, and at the time of his father’s death (only a month previous), he was living in Ottawa.
